Women's cycling clubs & women-only rides in Pasadena

Women's cycling clubs and women-only rides in Pasadena, from easy laps of the Rose Bowl Loop to the long climb up Angeles Crest.

Finding your first women’s group ride in Pasadena

Two kinds of club appear in the list: women’s clubs, and mixed clubs that have flagged a coming ride as women only. For the mixed clubs, the date shown is that women-only ride. Each club describes its own riding, so read it for pace, open the ride page for the start point, and message the organizers in the app before you show up.

Where to ride on your own first

The easiest place to get used to riding here is the Rose Bowl Loop, 3.1 to 3.3 miles of pavement around the stadium and Brookside Golf Course, closed to car traffic. It’s flat and shared with walkers, so it suits steady laps most days. Just avoid Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 5:55 pm from spring until the clocks change, when the long-standing Rose Bowl group ride fills the loop.

When you want a real climb, it starts in La Cañada Flintridge: Angeles Crest Highway (CA-2) rises about 4,600 feet over 18.5 miles to Mt. Wilson. Check Caltrans QuickMap for closures before you head up. The dirt above Altadena is mostly off-limits for now. After the January 2025 Eaton Fire, a U.S. Forest Service order keeps the lower Mt. Wilson Toll Road and the Sam Merrill, Echo Mountain and Mount Lowe trails closed through December 31, 2027.
