Long Beach is flat, and most of its riding is on car-free paths along the beach and two rivers, which makes it a forgiving place to start. Here are the clubs around town that run as women’s clubs or post women-only rides.

Finding your first women’s group ride in Long Beach
Each club in the list is either a women’s club or a mixed club with a women-only ride on the way. For a mixed club, the date shown is that women-only ride. Read the club’s description for pace and style, open the ride page for the start point, and message the organizers in the app before you show up.
Where to ride on your own first
The Shoreline Pedestrian Bikepath, the beach path, is 3.1 miles of wide concrete between Alamitos Avenue and 54th Place, with separate lanes for bikes and people on foot. On the east side of town, the San Gabriel River Bike Trail runs 28 miles and passes through El Dorado Regional Park, where a 4-mile park path joins it in several places.
To go further, the Los Angeles River Bikeway runs 29.1 miles up the river’s east side from the Downtown Marina, though for now it stops at an eight-mile gap below downtown LA. The only real hill nearby is Signal Hill, a small city surrounded by Long Beach that rises 365 feet. Temple Avenue climbs it at about 6% for 0.7 mile, short enough for a few repeats.
Frequently asked questions
Where can I find women's group rides in Long Beach?
The list on this page shows the Long Beach clubs that are women’s clubs or post women-only rides, with each one’s next ride date, start time and distance. It updates as clubs post rides, and you can message the organizers in the app before you go.
What does a “women only” ride mean on RiderFinder?
It’s a ride the organizing club has marked as open to women only. Women’s clubs show here with all their rides; mixed clubs show because of a women-only ride, and the date shown for them is that ride. Each club’s description says who else it welcomes.
Where can I ride on my own in Long Beach before a women's group ride?
Try the beach path or the San Gabriel River Bike Trail, both flat and car-free. The Shoreline Pedestrian Bikepath is 3.1 miles of wide concrete with separate lanes for bikes and people on foot, and the river trail runs 28 miles through El Dorado Regional Park on the east side of town.
How do clubs end up on this page?
A club shows up when it’s set up as a women’s club or has a women-only ride in the next 30 days. Clubs are never added because of their name, so every club here chose the women-only setting itself.
