Ride for Jane Doe + for all of us
Host a Ride for Jane Doe in your city: no oneridesalone.
Sat · 10.17.26 · Your cityHost a ride the same day as Los Angeles
Want to bring the ride to your city? Set it up in a few minutes and send it our way.
The first Ride for Jane Doe is happening in Los Angeles on October 17, and riders in other cities have already asked how they can take part.
If you want to lead one where you live, you can set it up yourself on RiderFinder and send it to us. We’ll get in touch on WhatsApp and add it to the main Ride for Jane Doe page.
Keep it simple
You don’t need a club or a big event plan.
A route, a start time and a few people willing to look out for each other is enough.
- Pick an accessible route. Any bike is welcome, so plan with the group in mind.
- Make it no-drop. Regroup when needed and finish together.
- No explanations required. Nobody needs to share their story or say why they came.
- Ride on October 17. Choose whatever start time works locally.
Set it up
- Sign up on RiderFinder. Open RiderFinder on the web, or get the app on iPhone or Android.
- Create your club, if you have one. Riding with a club or crew? Create it first so you can host the ride as the club. Riding on your own works too.
- Create the ride. Tap +, set it for Saturday, October 17, and add the meeting point, start time and route. Keep it public so people nearby can find it. Calling it “Ride for Jane Doe: your city” helps.
- Send it to us. Open your ride, tap Share to copy its link, and send it below with a WhatsApp number.
- Spread the word. Share the same link with your club, group chats and on Instagram. Tag @theecarbonqueen and @riderfinder.app and use #RideForJaneDoe so the rides can find each other.
Riding indoors?
Virtual rides count too. RiderFinder doesn’t have a proper option for them yet, but a regular ride works fine:
- Start the title with [Virtual]. Something like “[Virtual] Ride for Jane Doe: Zwift”.
- Add the route from your platform. Export the GPX from Zwift, MyWhoosh, Rouvy or wherever you ride and upload it when you create the ride. Like on Strava, the route will show up somewhere odd on the map, sometimes in the middle of the ocean. That’s expected.
- Put the join link in the description. Add the link to the event or meetup on your platform, plus anything people need to know to join, like the world, the pace or the group ride name.
Then send it to us below like any other ride.
Send us your ride
You’re also completely free to organize it another way. The important part is the ride, not the platform.
