Ride for Jane Doe 10.17.26
Ride for Jane Doe: believeher. ride withher.
Saturday, October 17 · Los AngelesA ride for survivors and the people who stand with them
A ride in Los Angeles on October 17, in solidarity with Jane Doe and survivors everywhere. Any bike. Everyone welcome.
On October 17, cyclists in Los Angeles are coming together for the Ride for Jane Doe.
The ride was started by @theecarbonqueen following the Jane Doe case at Cornell. RiderFinder is helping with the ride and making it easier for people to join.
Why this ride
@theecarbonqueen shared her own experience under the words “I am Jane Doe.”
As she put it:
“There is a person behind that name. And there are so many of us who recognize ourselves in it.”
Since then, more than a thousand people have reached out to her. Many shared experiences of their own.
Who it’s for
In her words:
- For those of us who are Jane Does.
- For those who have never told anyone.
- For those who have shared their stories and are still waiting to be heard.
- For those who love us and want to show up.
Survivors, loved ones and allies are all welcome. You don’t need to share your story or explain why you’re there.
The ride
This is a no-drop ride and any bike is welcome.
Come as you are. Ride together. Regroup when needed. Finish together.
The ask goes beyond October 17 too: respect people’s boundaries, listen without blame, speak up when something isn’t right and look out for the people around you.
