Some rides on RiderFinder ask you to agree to a waiver before you can join. This article explains when that happens, what signing means, and where to find what you’ve signed.

What’s a waiver?

A waiver is a document written by the ride’s organizer: either a club, or a person hosting rides under their own name. The terms come from the organizer, not from RiderFinder. We don’t write, review or approve them; we just record who agreed to what, and when.

If something in a waiver is unclear, ask the organizer before you sign.

When you’ll be asked

You’re asked at the moment you tap to join a ride or mark yourself interested. If the organizer has waivers you haven’t signed yet, a sheet appears with the terms.

How to sign

  1. Read the terms.
  2. Tap Agree & sign.
  3. If the organizer has more than one active waiver, you’ll go through them one after another.

Once you’ve agreed to all of them, the thing you were doing completes automatically: you’re joined, or marked interested. No need to start over.

Signing is a click-through agreement, recorded with your identity and a timestamp.

One signature covers the organizer, not the ride

After you’ve signed a club’s waivers, joining that club’s other rides won’t ask you again. Same for a personal host. You’ll only be asked again if the organizer publishes new terms. Then you’ll sign once more on your next join.

Club rides vs. personal rides

  • A ride hosted by a club asks for the club’s waivers.
  • A ride someone hosts under their own name asks for that person’s waivers.

These are separate. You might sign a club’s waiver and, later, a personal waiver for someone who also rides with that club.

What if I don’t sign?

You can’t join or mark yourself interested in that organizer’s rides until you’ve signed all their active waivers. You can always come back and sign later.

Where to find what you’ve signed

Go to Settings → Waivers → Waivers you’ve signed. You’ll see everything you’ve agreed to and the date you signed. Tap any waiver to re-read the exact text you agreed to, even if the organizer has since retired it.

Frequently asked questions

Why am I being asked to sign again?

The organizer published new terms since you last signed. You’ll be asked once on your next join.

Can I take back a signature?

No, there’s no way to withdraw a signature in the app. If that matters to you, contact the organizer.

Who sees my signature?

The organizer can see that you signed, and when. For a club, that’s the club’s owners, admins and moderators. For a personal host, just that person.

I'm already on a ride and the organizer published a new waiver. Am I kicked off?

No. The check only happens when you join or mark yourself interested. You’ll be asked to sign the new terms the next time you join one of their rides.
